About the job as an Industrial Engineer:
As an Industrial Engineer at Jefferson Wells, placed at SAAB Kockums in Karlskrona, you will be a key person in projects that involve both new construction and modernization of submarines and surface vessels. You will work closely with design and production and contribute to creating efficient processes and high-quality products.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to follow the entire lifecycle of the products and work in all phases of the projects. You will be part of the Shipbuilding Engineering department, where the focus is on production calculations, construction methodology, assembly sequence, geometric assurance, make/buy assessments, production aids, and fixtures. You will also work with design analyses and preparation of work orders as well as planning for effective production implementation.
Examples of tasks:
- Participate in new construction and modernization projects of submarines and surface vessels.
- Work with production calculations, construction methodology, and assembly sequence.
- Ensure geometric assurance and make/buy assessments.
- Develop production aids and fixtures.
- Perform design analyses and preparation of manufacturing documentation.
- Plan equipment and processes for efficient production.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone with an engineering degree in mechanical engineering, marine design, or equivalent experience from the professional field. You may be at the beginning of your career or have several years of experience - the most important thing is your willingness to develop and contribute to the team. You have a genuine interest in technology and people, are communicative, and enjoy working cross-functionally.
Requirements:
- Engineering degree in mechanical engineering, marine design, or equivalent experience.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of your work.
- Humility and perseverance for continuous improvement.
- Strong technical interest and a curious mindset.
Meritorious:
- Experience from the marine industry, process, or manufacturing industry (steel, machining, surface treatment).
- Experience of large-scale, complex development projects.
- Technical project management or coordination within process or product development.
- Knowledge of design and preparation of production documentation.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where our client has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
